Morrilton RN Recognized for Sharing Compassion with Food
We all know that sometimes a certain food just hits the spot when you are sick. Derek DePriest, an RN in the Med/Surg Unit in Morrilton, recently made two patients’ days with food that fulfilled not just their hunger, but also their emotional needs.
One patient was a swing bed patient that could not have any visitors. She had been at Morrilton for 2 weeks and really wanted a milkshake. Derek went to McDonalds and made her day with the delivery.
Another patient who was newly diagnosed with cancer was having a hard time with his appetite. He mentioned to Derek that a chili baked potato sounded good. Derek went and got him one to ensure he would eat something.
Thanks Derek for showing compassion with these patients and fulfilling physical and emotional needs!
