We’re Celebrating Nurses Week by Highlighting Their Great Work
Natalie Mason, a nurse on 2 East at Hot Springs, received the Daisy Award. A patient nominated Natalie for her kindness and attentiveness writing,
“This nurse has so much HEART!!! Even though I know she had several other patients, it seemed as if I was her only patient just because she was in here so much, tending to my every need. She was a very good listener. She NEVER made me feel bad for pushing the button or calling her for help. She was ALWAYS on schedule with my meds and that wasn’t the case with some of the nurses. The main thing I appreciated was her kindness. Such a sweetheart! Thank you for your care.”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this national award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.
