Nurses: Please Participate in NDNQI Survey

Nurses are encouraged to participate in the annual National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI) RN Survey, going on now through Oct. 21. The survey is your opportunity to provide feedback about your satisfaction with your nursing practice environment. Results of the survey will be used to identify opportunities for improvement.

Pizza parties will be provided for the units with the highest participation rates.

NDNQI is a national database that allows hospitals to compare their units to similar ones across the country. Full and part time RNs are eligible to take the survey, regardless of job title, if they spend at least 50% of their time in patient care. RNs must also have worked on their current unit by Aug. 1 to be eligible. Complete details listing all groups eligible to take the survey will be available on the Nursing page on the Insider. Eligible RNs will receive a letter at their home in late September.

While this survey is highly encouraged, participation is not mandatory and demographic data that might identify individual nurses is not reported on the unit level. Every nurse’s opinion and voice is important to continuously improve our work environment.
