Thank-A-Donor Program to Launch in August

We’ve all heard that donating blood is “giving the gift of life”, and it is true. One blood donation can, and often does, save several lives. Now those that receive this gift have a way to thank their donors. Together with the Arkansas Blood Institute, we are launching the “Thank-the-Donor” campaign in August.

“Thank-the-Donor” is a free, simple service that uses HIPAA compliant, web-based technology designed to connect a patient’s message of appreciation to that blood recipient’s specific donor(s).

Early results of Thank-the-Donor have been very encouraging: Donors have contacted us after receiving notes of appreciation to express their excitement and hospital laboratory, nursing and administrative staff express feelings of renewed purpose after patient messages are shared with them. The words and images inspire blood donors to continue giving because the importance of their generosity is brought “home” in such a personal way.
