Ashley Bizell Bell Becomes Second in State to Earn Cardiology Pharmacy Certification
Congratulations to Ashley Bizell Bell, PharmD BCCCP, a pharmacist at the Infirmary, who recently became a Board Certified Cardiology Pharmacist. Ashley is one of only two pharmacists in the state with this specialization.
The purpose of BPS Board Certified Cardiology Pharmacist (BCCP) program is to validate that the pharmacist has the advanced knowledge and experience to optimize patient outcomes by:
- Focusing on disease prevention and treatment, including evidence-based medication use and related care that improve both short-and long-term outcomes for patients;
- Practicing across the spectrum of care, including ambulatory, acute and intensive care; and
- Reviewing, analyzing and monitoring multi-faceted clinical information to make reasoned decisions for patients with multiple comorbidities and highly complex medication regimens.
