From Patient, To Coworker, To Advocate

Janie Kehler, RN has been a coworker at the Infirmary for about 3 years, and she loves it; however her path to joining CHI St. Vincent is an interesting one. We always welcome submissions from our coworkers. We want to hear their fun, interesting or touching stories about their patients, fellow coworkers or themselves. Janie made good on that standing invitation and submitted the story of her path to becoming a coworker. We thought it was worth sharing.

“While living in a different city, I worked for the local hospital there, but when it came time for the only two surgeries I’ve ever had, they were both performed at the Infirmary. Both my children were delivered at the Infirmary, despite living in a different town. The experience was so excellent, I wrote an unsolicited letter to the CEO telling of the great care and overall experience. Not only that, but my maternal grandmother has eight joint replacement surgeries here.”

So, when Janie moved to Little Rock in 2015, she was ecstatic for the opportunity to come to work at the Infirmary. She continually boasts about how much she loves being at the Infirmary and being with all the incredible people with whom she works.

Thank you Janie, for being a great example of loving what you do, and loving doing it here!
