Hot Springs Hosts Annual Organ Donor Walk
CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs beat the rain on Tuesday for their annual Organ Donor Walk.
About 30 coworkers and nursing students from National Park Community College joined in on the walk from the flagpole to the end of the Medical Office Building.
After raising the organ donor flag, Shane Robertson from Pastoral Care said a prayer and Amelia Nabholz from ARORA shared more about the organization and this year’s theme.
The 2024 National Donate Life Month artwork and theme, Donors are SuperStars, was inspired by the night sky and the billions of stars that make up the universe. Stars remind us that even in the darkest night, there is light. Your decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor gives hope and light to the 100,000 people on the national transplant waiting list who are waiting for a second chance at life. That’s why donors are superstars!
Coworkers also set up a booth in the cafeteria to help educate patients and staff.
