Josh Porter, a patient care tech in Hot Springs’ Emergency Department, was recognized as a Service Hero for displaying the value of COMPASSION.
Josh was nominated by a coworker for the care he showed to a recent patient.
The patient said he had not bathed in about three weeks, and while Josh was washing and scrubbing the patient’s feet for PIV placement, he learned his shoe size.
When he was done assisting the patient, Josh got out a pair of Nike Jordans from his car so the patient could have a suitable pair of shoes.
“This was such a pure example of excellence and compassion, we could not be more proud.”
