Kathy Carrigan Named Service Hero for Driving Patient Home

Congratulations Kathy Carrigan, RN, for being named an Infirmary Service Hero!

Kathy was nominated by a coworker who noticed her compassion and kindness to a patient in the Cardiac Cath Lab.

The coworker said there was a patient who had received a cardiac catheterization and when they were ready for discharge, they found out the person who was supposed to pick them up could no longer provide transportation.

They said the patient went through all of her contacts to see who could offer a ride, but had no luck. Kathy, without skipping a beat, graciously volunteered to take the patient home. She even walked the patient to her door and carried all her bags inside the house.

“Kathy is a joy to work with. She takes very good care of her patients and she goes above and beyond what is required of nurses. She showed true kindness and compassion!”
