Misty Lloyd Recognized with Hot Springs DAISY Award

Misty Lloyd, RN, was recognized with a Hot Springs DAISY Award for the “outstanding” care she provided to a recent patient.
Misty was nominated by a patient’s wife who praised her ability to both comfort the family and care for the patient.
“She knew the patient was my whole life and we only have each other, and I was so scared. She made me feel like my husband was the most important person on her shift. And she never made me feel like my concerns were petty.”
Misty’s nomination went on to praise how she listened and then took action to care for the patient.
“She had a very calming effect. She took my concerns to heart and did an outstanding job on her knowledge of nursing.”
The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created the national award to thank nurses everywhere.
